What Are Symbolic Of The Vietnamese Culture?
I’m about to get my first tattoo. I was thinking of getting something to do with my heritage. I’m Vietnamese, so I was wondering what would be symbolic to Vietnam and the culture. Some ideas i had were dragons & phoenix’s. I was wondering if Kaun Ti (the war god) is part of Vietnamese culture. Also what are the characteristics of the Vietnamese dragon, I read somewhere they have less claws and heads are smaller or some sort like that.

I think the shape of the country itself is very symbolic. A tattoo of that would be pretty cool, especially if you can get it in green ink. Maybe just have the outline of the country, and have letters inside that say SAIGON, that take up the whole country. Then again, if you do that they may have trouble, if you go to Vietnam, so instead you could put a dragon inside the outer lining of the country. Another idea, is just put the words, VIETNAM Inside the outer lining of the country. Hope you like my ideas.

Tatts are dumb; if you plan on getting old they sag and look even more childish.

You described, not necessarily the Vietnamese dragon, but Chinese version of dragons which might be the same, as apposed to the english dragon that’s big and spiky and likes killing stuff.

It is dumb getting a tattoo so don’t even think about it.
